ACTORS FROM ANNIE, JR.
Hello everyone!!!!
Hope your school year has gone well. I have certainly been kept busy. I am writing to give all of you notice about this year's Summer Youth Musical! I am very excited to tell you that Clinton County Showcase is performing The Adventures of Doctor Dolittle this year. The performance dates are Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sun, July 15,16,17, and 18 with a rain date of Monday July 19, 2004. Leah Klostermann is once again handling our music and dance steps this year.
I am very excited about this show, and I hope you all are as well. The cast is made of boys and girls, age 6-16 years old. There are 11 named, speaking, singing human characters, and 13 named, speaking, singing animal characters. Plus many opportunities for human and animal chorus parts. The whole first song of the show is performed by the chorus, with solo parts for a few good singers. There are also a couple parts that are non solo singing parts, so don't be afraid to audition if you're not a singer.
The auditions are Saturday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m. at the downtown theatre. Have a brief 16 measure song prepared to sing if you are interested in a singing part, otherwise if chorus is where you want to be I will have you get on stage in a group to sing something like "Happy Birthday" or something easy that we all know. The chorus people will go first, and then can be excused. Then I will hear from the others and will have you read from the script.
When looking at your calendars and talking to your parents about participating, keep in mind the week before the show. ( July 10-14) That week will be our "Tech" week when we put all the lights, music and sound together to prepare for the audience. That week will be mandatory attendance. As always, during the rehearsals, we will work with you around your ball schedules. Remember, to come before those late games or after those early games. We are going to try very hard to let you know ahead of time what scenes we will be working on during each rehearsal. You may not always have to be there.
Parents, as always, your help will be appreciated. This show is going to require some unique costumes, props and set work. We will take any help you have to offer us.
Hope to see you all at auditions! If you are not able to participate, tell a friend about it.
